Strongest Bankai In Bleach

If you have watched Bleach, you must have one or other Bankai that you consider best. And same as you guys I have my own favorite Benaki. So, in this Blog, I have ranked a few Banaki that I consider strongest.

Well, you might have a different opinion than me. I respect that but stick with me on this Blog and tell me if you agree with my opinion or not if your opinion differs then comment with your view I would love to read that too.

So, without further due let’s get straight to the list.

Ryumon Hozukimaru

Ryumon Hozukimaru is a lieutenant and former 3rd seat holder in the 11th division of Gotei 13, under Kenpachi. He is one of the fan favorites due to his personality. Always ready to fight and will go to any extent to fight. He even entered high school with a wooden stick so that he can fight. The thing that I like the most is his Banaki and his melee fights.

His Shikai is a spear that can split or take three different types of shapes. But his Benaki is even better and gives more damage output. As you can see in the image it split into three parts 2 enormous blades connect with chains to each other and also its 3rd blade which looks more like an axe to me. And this axe-like blade has a dragon crest on it.

This crest charge up each time he receives or deals damage. And after it is fully charged his blade acquires true Bankai cutting power. Quite amazing Bankai right? I love his Bankai persoanlly.

Kensei Muguruma

He is the captain of squad 9 in the Gotei 13. He was captain 100 years ago too before he was stripped of the title but later due to circumstance he was given his position back. His Zampaktu is also amazing and powerful. When he activates his Shikai his Zampaktu transforms itself into a combat knife. He usually keeps his Zampaktu in this form and keeps it in his pants pocket.

And when his Zampaktu transforms into Banaki form it changes into a twin knuckle which allows him to create strong wind slices which are tremendously powerful. This is not it he also gains a strong windshield it is like a purple warp around him. These twin knuckles can changes form to brass knuckles and spiked gauntlets.

Rojuro Otoribashi

His case is the same as Kensei Muguruma, he was captain of the 3rd division of Gotei 13 until he was stripped of his post. It has been 100 years since then and now he was assigned duty again after the war against Aizen. And until the war, he didn’t reveal his Benaki.

He is kind of a foppish man and loves to sing songs in every situation his in. And his Banaki is also related to sound too. His Zampaktu Kinshara in its sealed form is like a diamond on top of a handle.

And in its Shikai form, it looks like a golden whip and it can change direction easily and can also be retracted back with ease. Its Bankai form takes the form of a large hand that allows Rose to play music and create illusions as he pleases.

Renji

Renji is one of the few Lieutenants who is a captain level. His Zabimaru had many forms and his true form is revealed after he trained himself intensely. In its Shikai form, it acts both like a whip at the same time as a sword it is connected with metal thread. This gives it both power and flexibility.

And even if someone is able to break his sword he is still capable of using these broken pieces and he called this technique Higa Zekko. And after training with Kisuke Urahara comes the next form of Zabimaru, Hihio Zabimaru is his bank but at this stage, Zabimaru still does not trust Renji and thus not revealed his true form. Hihio Zabimaru is a diminished form because Zabimaru still can act as a whip but is bigger.

And finally, in the Thousand Year Blood War, his Bankai showed this true form which is Soo Zabimaru. Blade of Soo Zabimaru. are shorter but can extend from the skull of the snake which wraps around Renji’s hand. And so far we have witnessed three of its form.

Soifon’s Shikai

Soifon’s Shikai is the Commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō and also she is captain of the 2nd Division in the Gotei 13. She is one of the characters who have strong and unbending beliefs and let’s not forget about her loyal nature.

Her Zampaktu’s name is Suzumebachi and in its sealed form it looks like a wakizashi. In the Shikai form her Zampaktu reduces in size and forms a gauntlet and a sharp middle around her figure which are connected by a metal string. As she is a master in hand-to-hand combat it acts as a guard as well to deliver her ultimate attack or to pierce the enemy in one go just like an assassin. Which she has pride in as a stealth squad leader.

Jakuhō Raikōben is the name of her Bankai and is two in one device that is what I would like to call it as it acts as a shield as well as a weapon of mass destruction. Jakuhō Raikōben develops itself around her arm and even goes above her shoulder and is almost twice her size.

It locks into the enemy and shoots it down and causes large-scale destruction. While using Jakuhō Raikōben her pride hurts and she always tries to end a fight without using Jakuhō Raikōben as it goes against her pride as an assassin. What are your views on her Bankai do you like it?

Chōjirō Sasakibe

Chōjirō Sasakibe was a lieutenant in squad 1 under the Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto( one of the most badass grandpas I ever encountered). He held his position for almost 110 years. He is one of the most people of Yamamoto and took the oath of serving as his lieutenant till the day Yamamoto dies. Western cuisine had a huge impact on him as well as his lifestyle.

HIs Zampaktu’s name is Gonryōmaru. In its unreleased form, it looks like a normal katana with an ornate double-fanned hand guard. In Shikai form, he holds it above his and forms a cloud which stuck lighting allowing him to make a dorm of lighting.

His Bankai is called Koko Gonryo Rikyu and in this form, he is allowed to do many things such as throw lighting by directing it toward his enemy and many other things. It is so destructive that it can injure Captain Commander.

Sajin Komamura

Sajin Komamura was the captain of the 7th division. You can him as a person with a heart of Gold and a very forgiving person. His Bankai is very simple and he tends to use his Bankai in almost every fight. he summons a Gaint who wears heavy armor. He imitates all the moves Sajin Komamura performs.

This Bankai has a downside in that if Sajin Komamura is induced with any kind of damage he receives it too. But when in its ultimate form in which Sajin Komamura transform himself into his human form he is immune to all kind of damage. You can say he is almost immortal at that time.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi

My first impression of his a psycho-crazy doctor who would betray his people for his experiment and goals. He is captain of the 12th Division in the Gotei 13. HIs is Shikai is quite simple and straightforward forward it releases poison that acts as a neurotoxin, one should keep an eye on his Bankai.

His Bankai’s name is Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo it takes a form of a worm that has a massive baby’s body above it and releases lethal poison from its mouth. Not only this he also have retractable blades in his stomach and can also self-destruct.

There is another form of Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo in this form it transforms into a massive purple child and gets many other abilities such as it can create a modified version of itself, after receiving specific information about enemies it creates a specific weapon to counter and kill the enemy. Quite a dangerous ability in my eyes.

Now let’s get down to the people who are truly dangerous with their Bankai. Hopefully, you agree with my list if not you can suggest yours too I would love to read it.

Zaraki Kenpachi

In my eyes, no one is more manly than Zaraki Kenpachi in the whole series. Do you agree? If not let me know in the comment section. In fights, he acts like a psycho but this is the part that I like the most.

Zaraki Kenpachi captain of the 11th Division in the Gotei 13. His first lieutenant was Yachiru Kusajishi who always used to stick with her all the time. And I used to love this duo.

In Shikai form his Zampaktu changes into the massive axe-like thing and increases his attack power greatly it is increased to the extent that he can destroy a meteor with ease. But the best part is his Bankai which created super hype Bleach community upon its introduction in the Manga. Kenpachi goes berserk mode in this form.

His Zampaktu takes the form of a cleaver and his appearance changes somewhat into like a Demon. And in this form, he can cut through almost everything with his cleaver. Totally loved this form. What do you think about this form? Did you like it or hated it?

Kisuke Urahara

One was the oldest character in the anime(based on the introduction in anime) Kisuke Urahara was the former captain of the 12th squad, he as well is the founder and 1st President of the S.R.D.I.

His Zampaktu is Benihime in its unsealed form it is a blade hidden inside a cane. Which looks like a stick of old age people. In its, Shikai form its size changed to a medium size sword and now Benihime is capable of producing a crimson color energy which allows him to use various techniques.

And while his Shikai is good his Bankai is on another level. His Bankai name is Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame and uses his scientific mind to use it properly. His Zampaktu transforms into a giant woman with black hair. And this allows his Zampaktu to rearrange anything in shape as if you are making your own Lego structure. It also gives Urahara the to heal himself for instance it can heal his eye back just like that.

Retsu Unohana

She was one of the founding members of Gotei 13. And as captain of the 4th Squad, she is considered the best Healer in the Soul Society. Retsu Unohana was once captain of the 11th squad and held the title of Kenpachi. She might not be the brightest captain but she is one of the Kindest and gentle one. She is even humble to her subordinates and enemy and uses horrification titles.

She wields one of the most dangerous Bankai that one can wield in Bleach.

Her Zampaktu’s name is Minazuki and it looks like Katana but is slightly longer than Katana. The Shikai form of Minazuki is also quite extraordinary it transforms into a large unknown create which has healing properties and can fly. It can heal the injured person by swallowing it and with its acid, it heals him/her.

In its Bankai form, Minazuki starts releasing liquid which is basically acid and this acid can make the strongest opponent into a mere skeleton. Heal and Burn amazing combo LoL.

Hope you don’t mind I put her so up on the list. As this is how I feel.

Kaname Tōsen

He was the former captain of squad 9 of the Gotei 13 until he betrayed the Soul society alongside Aizen. His Bankai is one of the best if not the best in the Soul society. In my opinion, he was one of the most hypocritical characters let me tell why as he is someone who believes that “taking the path with the least bloodshed” and still followed Aizen whose plan required the death of thousands of people.

And he even did most bad things that one can do to his former friends and squad member.

But apart from that you can’t deny that he has one of the strongest Bankai. He is a Master swordsman despite the fact that he is blind. His Zampaktu’s name is Suzumushi in the unsealed form it is a normal-looking Katana with an orange hilt.

He has a unique Shikai has it has two different commands to activate two different kinds of Shikai. On command Cry, it produces a high pitch sound and makes the enemy close enough uncanniness. And second allows him to rain down hundreds of blades, on his opponents.

And on activating his Bankai he makes a large dome-like void which keeps on expanding till it makes a large dome. And in this dome enemy losses ability to smell, taste, see and hear. Which is sacring enough on hearing. Only their sense of touch is there. And you know what will happen when you are in this dome who already can’t see and is a Master Sword’s man.

Gin Ichimaru

Gin Ichimaru was the captain of the 3rd Division of the Gotei 13, until his betrayal. With just a look at his face, you can figure out his personality. He is a mysterious personality till the end he was a mysterious man who constantly smiled without showing any other emotion on his face.

He was also a master swordsman and his Zampaktu’s name is Shinsō it just looks like a wakizashi. In its Shikai, his blade increases rapidly with a white light penetrating his enemy.

His Bankai’s name is Kamishini no Yari and is similar to his Shikai which increases its length but has greater and more destructive power. It can extend up to 8 miles at 500 times the speed of sound. And when it scatters it leaves behind a remnant in the body of the enemy which acts as a poison and destroys enemies body at the cellular level.

Kuchiki Rukia

Currently the captain of the 13th Division. She is an adopted sister of Byakuya Kuchiki a nobility. She is the type of person who doesn’t open up easily even though he is a gentle and kind heart and because of this, she has a hard time making friends.

Her Zampaktu’s name is Sode no Shirayuki and in its Shikai form, it uses many techniques known as the dance of Rukia. But her Banaki is on the next level. Not only her Zampkatu changes its appearance to transparent white ice but it changes Rukia’s appearance too. It changes her clothes and hair into completely white.

This is not the main thing. Now in this form, she forms a pillar that releases a cold mist that spread over a large area and if one gets touched by this mist will freeze and crumble down within seconds. Truly a terrifying ability. What do you think?

Byakuya Kuchiki

Captain of the 6th division and 28th head of the Kuchiki Clan. And the brother of Kuchiki Rukia. Personally, I find his technique quite fascinating his thousand blades and on top of that they are of Sakura color. It makes it more amazing.

His Zampaktu’s name is Senbonzakura and is one of the best blades out there. On activating his Shikai his blade start fading and turns into the petal of sakura and the only hilt is left. These Sakura leaves are thousands in number and Byakuya can control them of will with his hilt.

His Bankai is an advanced version of his Shikai and activating animation is quite cool looking. He summons giant blades from the ground on both sides and these scatters and turn into countless Sakura petals and then you know what happens.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya

He looks like a young lad but is the captain of the 10th division of Gotei 13. His personality of also different from his appearance he is a mature and serious kind of person. But apart from that his Bankai is something that I find amusing.

His Zampaktu’s name is Hyōrinmaru. In its, Shikai form his blade changes its form from a normal-looking Katana to a crescent-shaped blade attached to its hilt. And this allows Tōshirō Hitsugaya to control water and ice as per his likes. And Ice can freeze any opponent instantly.

His Benaki is a stronger form of its Shikai with greater power, radius, and speed. And now he can even use this power with his tail. Which appears when he uses his Bankai.

Here I would like to say that upcoming guys seem equally dangerous in my eyes so all of them were given rank 1.

Shirafude Ichimonji

He is one of the Division leaders who possess truly dangerous Bankai. meet the captain of zero division Shirafude Ichimonji. He got quite a title under his name”Monk Who Calls the Real Name”.

He is someone who will fulfill his duty whatsoever is given to him. And this mentality is supported by his upfront and loud-speaking character. His Zampkatu holds the name Ichimonji. In its sealed form it looks like a calligraphic brush. And he uses it to write calligraphy.

But things change from its Shikai form it transforms into a short glaive. And it releases ink and whatever touches its ink losses its name and thus power. And becomes his power.

His Bankai is also not normal he calls it Shin’uchi on activating this his blade brush turns white and becomes a long, thick thread that coils in the air around him. And it allows Shirafude Ichimonji to change the name of the target stuck by ink into whatever he feels even an ant. Basically making them powerless.

Shunsui Kyōraku

Next is your Shunsui Kyōraku who is captain of the 1st Division and Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13. Even though he is captain of the 1st division he got a laid-back personality and loves to take things slowly while enjoying them. He was a former captain of the 8th division.

His Zampatu are twin blade Katen Kyōkotsu. In Shikai form, they change their shape into a cool-looking twin blade. And gains the ability to make children’s games real and set rules accordingly. And if someone tries to break rules a great amount of spiritual force is exerted even on himself. He has a famous line “You win, you live. You lose, you die”

Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto

Next up on this list is one of the most badass grandpas that I know in anime. Totally loves these types of overpowered Jiji. Yamamoto was the captain of the 1st division and also captain-commander of the whole Gotei 13 until he went to Hell. Where he gained the epithet of “Founder of the Gotei”.

His Zampaktu is Ryūjin Jakka. In sealed form, it takes the form of a wooden staff for an old man. But don’t go by its look in its sealed form only it has the greatest fire and offensive ability in the whole Soul society.

His Shiaki is absurdly strong too it can turn anything into Ash on the will of Yamamoto. With its tremendous firepower, it creates an environment of hell or so it seems to be. Now let’s talk about its Bankai. ITs Bankai form is Zanka no Tachi and on activating it takes the form of a normal old worn out Katana.

And now his blades absorb all the previously emitted heat and become nearly invincible as the thing he cut ceases its existence. Even his body becomes invincible though it is not visible. The heat is so much that even Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s Bankai is useless in front of it. Truly badass Bankai.

Kurosaki Ichigo

As he is the protagonist of the series I don’t think there is a doubt his Banaki should be placed here. And I think everyone who is reading this Blog is similar to his Bankai.
